ALAIN SKOFF

Alain SKOFF was born in Marie-Gallant, the small island in the south of the Guadeloupe. Marie-gallant: Ground of blues, Ground of artists. After a few years in France he returned to Guadeloupe, then moved to Saint Martin. As a trumpet player he is impassioned by Jazz from his home in Guadeloupe (Gwo-ka). In 2005 Alain, created his radio show on Youth Radio affectionately called “Youth Jazz”. An emission devoted to the setting in comprehension of the Jazz for public various and Caribéen. Alain was thought the true history of the jazz from the New Orleans pianist Philippe Sanchez. Here is where he discovered and understood that his country had also its musical culture to share with others. The Radio is the ideal instrument to promote this new wave of artist who are influencing the root of Jazz music. Youth Jazz it is the contemporary Jazz encompassing the musical roots of Guadeloupe, Martinique and the other islands of the Caribbean one.
