YOU MADE IT

What happens when two school mates become best friends and start working together? They become YR925FM radio host together. That is exactly what happened to these two when they approached YR Youth Radio with the concept in May 2009. Vanessa AKA Jolie and Darlis AKA Canela, the host of “YOU MADE IT” are just like sisters. They laugh and talk so much to each other that they make a perfect mix to host the .

The show was created to showcase persons in our society young and old, who are successful at what they do. In other words “they made it”. Each week, people from different backgrounds and careers  join the show, to talk and enlighten the radio listeners on how they got started in life. “YOU MADE IT” allows the guess to re-live the journey to them becoming successful in their job!

“YOU MADE IT” goes behind the scenes to get up close and personal with some of the coolest and craziest jobs on St Maarten / Saint Martin. Jolie and Canela have already notice that not all guests are from successful families or attended school. “YOU MADE IT” will show the young listeners that although you did not have the opportunity to attend school, they can still do well; they can still make it.

“YOU MADE IT” will encourage people that are in or out of school to pursue their dream job and maybe avoid some mistakes that my interviewee has made. The goal of the show is not to illustrate how these people live in luxury but to demonstrate how they got there and the struggles behind the glamour.
